This Privacy Policy explains how Hāpai Te Hauora — Aotearoa's largest Māori public health organisation ("we", "us", "our") — collects, uses, stores, and protects your personal information in relation to the Wai July 2026 campaign and this website (waijuly.nz). Hāpai Te Hauora is responsible for this website and for any personal information collected through it. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal information in accordance with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

When you sign up to Wai July through our registration form, we collect the personal information you provide, which may include:

Our sign-up form is provided by Snapforms, a third-party form service that collects and processes this information on our behalf.

We may also disclose your information where required or permitted by law. As set out in the campaign Terms and Conditions, winners' first names and their stated reason for taking part may be published on our official social media channels.
Third-party services
This site relies on the following third-party services that may process personal information:
- Snapforms — our sign-up form provider. Snapforms is hosted on servers in New Zealand and your form data remains in New Zealand, encrypted in transit (256-bit SSL) and at rest (AES-256). Storage and security
We take reasonable steps to keep your personal information safe from loss and from unauthorised access, use, or disclosure. Sign-up information collected through our form is hosted in New Zealand by Snapforms and is encrypted in transit and at rest. Some other service providers (such as Google Analytics) may store or process information on servers located outside New Zealand; where this occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information is handled with comparable privacy protections.
How long we keep your information
We keep your personal information only for as long as it is needed for the purposes described in this policy. All personal information collected for the Wai July 2026 campaign will be securely deleted on or before 30 September 2026.
Your rights
Under the Privacy Act 2020, you have the right to:
- Ask whether we hold personal information about you
- Request access to that information
- Request a correction if the information is wrong or misleading
- Request that we delete personal information we hold about you, where it is no longer needed for the purpose it was collected
